Oleh Kuzo (Олег Кузьо) is a multidisciplinary data professional and prominent Ukrainian-American community leader currently based in Roseville, California. He serves as the Go-To-Market (GTM) Business Planning, Analytics & Reporting Manager at Aruba Networks, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) company, where he leads advanced data engineering and analytics initiatives to drive global enterprise strategies.
Oleh’s expertise is anchored in a rigorous quantitative background. He earned a Specialist degree in Applied Mathematics (1996–2001) from Ivan Franko National University in Lviv, Ukraine. His academic focus involved complex mathematical modeling; his diploma project, defended with an "Excellent" grade, was titled "Stabilization of Numerical Solutions of the Boundary Problems of Mathematical Model of Timoshenko's Plate Theory Using Bubble Function Approximations"
Furthering his business acumen, he completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Analytics (2019–2021) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His technical stack is comprehensive, spanning SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, and Salesforce, with specialized certifications in data visualization, inferential statistics, and big data analytics.
Oleh’s career trajectory reflects a transition from early-stage web development to high-level corporate data strategy:
Early Career (Ukraine): In the early 2000s, he worked as a webmaster and graphic designer for the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv. Notably, he managed the server infrastructure and digital presence for the official 2001 Papal Visit to Ukraine website, tracking Pope John Paul II’s historic pilgrimage.
HPE/Aruba Tenure (USA): Since joining HPE in 2007, Oleh has moved through progressively senior roles, from Web Application Developer to Business Intelligence and Data Analyst.
Strategic Impact: He has been a critical member of HPE’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) teams, providing post-acquisition data integration and performance reporting for billion-dollar acquisitions including 3Com, Aruba Networks, Silver Peak, and Juniper Networks. His current work involves building predictive machine learning models (such as customer churn and lead scoring) and synthesizing raw telemetry into executive-ready dashboards to monitor KPIs like Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Total Contract Value (TCV), and gross margin.
Outside of his corporate role, Oleh is a significant voice for the Ukrainian diaspora in Northern California. He serves as a Board Member and Treasurer for the Ukrainian Heritage Club of Northern California (UHCNC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
His advocacy work includes:
Humanitarian Logistics: Coordinating the shipment of tactical medical supplies, field trauma kits, and power generators to frontline regions in Ukraine.
Media and Public Speaking: Appearing as a regional expert on programs such as KQED’s Forum and news outlets like The Sacramento Bee and Fox40 News to discuss the geopolitical situation and refugee integration programs.
Philanthropic History: His commitment to social impact dates back to his time in Ukraine, where he volunteered for the Malteser Rescue Service as a CPR instructor and webmaster, and provided technical advocacy for the Dzherelo Children's Rehabilitation Centre.
Oleh has shared his technical knowledge as a guest lecturer, teaching a Data Visualization course for the MS in Data Science program at the Ukrainian Catholic University in 2017. On a personal level, he is an outdoor enthusiast who challenges himself with ultra-marathons, mountain biking, and the "Escape from Alcatraz" open water swims. He balances these pursuits with a commitment to his family and the preservation of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
